About Cellulose Insulation
Cellulose insulation has taken many forms over the years. Once comprised of sawdust, hemp, and even corncob, cellulose has finally found consistent quality when made from recycled newspaper treated with boric acid.
Cellulose has gained in popularity since the 1980’s, trending right along side Canadian initiatives for materials comprised of recyclables. Cellulose is made from 80-85% recycled material, whereas fibreglass is typically 50% or less.
Cellulose insulation retains more heat and has a slightly higher R value and comes at little or no cost difference versus fiberglass.

Attic Insulation Top-ups
According to Ontario’s building code, an R60 rating is now the standard amount of insulation you should have in your attic. Most homes typically have an R-Nothing to an R40, it isn’t a bad idea to consider getting an attic insulation top-up.
The added insulation will ALWAYS pay for itself through energy savings. You’ll also reduce your carbon footprint and emissions caused by overworking your heating and cooling units.
If you are experiencing uneven temperatures in certain areas of your home, there’s a good chance that adding attic insulation will help.
We’re here to help, all across Southern Ontario.
